Republic (Representative Democracy) - Govt power resides in citizens who vote and power is given to reps who rule by laws. Dictatorship - A form of government in which absolute power is concentrated in a leader or a small group. (Direct) Democracy - Govt where power rests with the people through a direct voting system on issues Tyranny - A government where a ruler maintains power through the use of force. Oligarchy - government in which a small group exercises control.
